Veteran's Registry

I've been looking to get Recycling for Food registered as a Veteran owned business. The paperwork has been sent in to the State of Wisconsin, and we are now in the Department of Veterans Affairs VetBiz Registry. These are good resources for other U.S. veterans looking to get some more recognition for the work they are doing after they have left the military.

Blog Posts Showing on Main Website

On FeedWind, I found a cool widget for displaying posts on a web page. The posts from this blog will now show on our home page. While this feature is nice, I read that it may still be best to keep our news directly on the home page. With search engines, the posts from the blog might not be crawled through because of the way they are displayed.

Awareness Ideas

While looking up ways to help promote our mission, and to find nice items for rewarding donators for sending in substantial amounts of donations, I stumbled upon Awareness Ideas. They are a part of FLEXi Display Marketing, Inc. They have a lot of green promotional products including recycling, energy conservation, water conservation, etc...

Their business looks like it will be a great resource.

"Causes" on Facebook

Recently created a cause on Facebook to help expand the presence of our organization. The response has been successful so far, especially when contacting people who are in "causes" with similar goals.

Submitted application to Pepsi Refresh Everything project

We were able to successfully submit the application, and if it gets approved then it will be available to be voted on in September. Hopefully, everything works out and we can get the start up funds that we need.
